PsychoToxin Press is watching out for your mental health.

We know there are traumas and mental scars that have lingering effects on your well being. Letting you enjoy great horror is important to us, and to make that happen, you have to be confident that the content of our stories isn’t going to have a negative effect on you (other than an appropriate amount of goosebumps).

Look for our color warnings on the lower right-hand corner of our book covers. Each color represents a different group of content triggers, with combined colors appearing on works that contain triggers from more than one group.

Depending on your point of view, the most dangerous (or interesting) books are marked with brown corners. These books contain triggers from three or more categories. We considered a few different colors for this option, but decided on brown because “Holy Shit, that’s a lot of triggers!”

For an understanding of what content falls into which group, please see the following list:

RED - SEXUAL

  • Sexual Assault

  • Stalker/Stalking

PURPLE- SEXUAL AND PHYSICAL

  • Subjects from the Red and Blue lists

  • Rape

  • Sexual Violence

  • Incest

BLUE - PHYSICAL

  • Physical Violence

  • Assault

  • Child Abuse/Death

  • Animal Abuse/Death

  • Cannibalism

GREEN - PHYSICAL AND MENTAL

  • Subjects from the Blue and Yellow Lists

  • Miscarriage/Abortion

  • Suicide

  • Addiction

YELLOW - MENTAL

  • Racism/Sexism/Homophobia and other forms of hatred.

  • Eating Disorders/Starvation

  • Body Shaming

  • Mental Illness

ORANGE - MENTAL AND SEXUAL

  • Subjects from the Yellow and Red Lists

BROWN - ALL OF THE ABOVE

  • “Holy shit, that’s a lot of triggers”
